Since July 2024, I have been Chair of the Department of Classics, Archaeology, and Religion (CAR). My goal as chair is to bolster the common identity of the newly formed unit across diverse academic disciplines and programs and support our mission through the development of policies and opportunities for excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Prior to becoming department chair, I served as chair of the A&S Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in 2023–2024, when I oversaw the 5-year review of courses fulfilling the Diversity Intensive requirement. In 2022 I was an elected member of the Graduate Faculty Senate, for which I chaired the Awards Committee (2023-2024). I have been a faculty reviewer for the MU Graduate School Fellowship Competition, and often volunteer as juror in the Annual Research and Creative Activities Forum organized by the Mizzou Graduate Professional Council.
I am an active professional member of the Archaeological Institute of America and have been Vice President (2019-2021) and President (2021-2023) of the AIA Central Missouri Society.
